The Presto Tensile Testing Machine operates on the Constant Rate of Traverse (CRT) principle. In this test, the sample is clamped between two jaws, with the upper jaw remaining stationary while the lower jaw moves at a fixed speed controlled by a motor.
Powered by a motor with a gear box and lead screw arrangement (operating at speeds of either 100mm or 200mm per minute), the machine ensures consistent and controlled movement. A sensor, linked to a load cell, accurately measures the load exerted on the stationary jaw, displaying the results digitally in kilograms.
